FAQs
Do you accept walk-ins?
Fox + Crown is an appointment only studio and does not accept walk-ins
How old do I need to be to get tattooed?
You must be 18years old or older. We do not tattoo anyone under the age of 18, even with parental consent. A valid driver’s license or government issued photo I.D. is mandatory to get tattooed.
Do you do cover-up tattoos?
Cover ups are on a case-by-case basis. There are many factors that determine whether a cover-up is possible and more often than not black and grey tattoos do not work well as a cover-up. Depending on pigment and layout of the existing tattoo, some may require laser removal to lighten first. Options are often limited for a successful coverup. Multiple sessions may be required.
Are there things you will not tattoo?
Fox + Crown is a Black and Grey only studio. We do not do color tattoos. We reserve the right to refuse certain subject matter or placement.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A non-refundable deposit is required to book a tattoo appointment. Appointments are not guaranteed until your deposit is received and the appointment is confirmed. The deposit is taken off the total price of the tattoo at the end of the final session.
How much does a tattoo cost?
Costs are based on either an hourly or day rate. Hourly vs day rate and the amount of hours needed depends on the size, detail and placement of the tattoo. An estimate is given at the time the appointment is scheduled based on the initial conversation. Once the design is finalized an updated quote may be provided.
Are touchups included?
Touchups are included free of charge charge for 1 year from the date of the initial tattoo appointment. Touchups beyond one year will be billed at an hourly rate. If it’s determined that you have not followed proper after care instructions we reserve the right to charge for your touchup.
Exception: Hand tattoos do not last and require a second pass. The cost of the second pass is the responsibility of the client.
Will I see the design before my appointment?
All designs are reviewed when you come in for your appointment. If adjustments need to be made they can be made the day of the appointment. If a redesign is required the appointment will be rescheduled.
Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
Clients are allowed one guest to accompany them to their appointment. No children (under 18) are allowed in the studio.
What should I do to prepare for my appointment?
We ask that all clients arrive well rested, freshly showered, and the area to be tattooed freshly shaven.
Please eat a substantial meal no more than two hours before your appointment time. Complimentary refreshments and snacks are provided during your tattoo session. There is also a convenience store and restaurants within walking distance.
Please note: We reserve the right to not tattoo you if you have not eaten before your appointment.
Do not consume alcohol the day before or day of your appointment.
NSAIDs should be avoided the day of your appointment to prevent bleeding.
Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed.
Can I apply numbing cream before being tattooed?
Tattoos can be painful, we get it. We advise you do not apply numbing creams before your appointment. They work for a relatively short time and can affect the quality of the tattoo ink. The artist can use numbing spray during the tattoo for pain relief.
Please note that if you use a numbing cream during your tattoo, touch-ups will not be free and likely be required.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel a minimum 48 hours notice is required to retain your deposit. Appointments cancelled with less then 48 hours notice forfeit the deposit for blocking out the artist time. All deposits are non-refundable. Please review the full cancellation policy.
